Celebrating your Love Story – Tips On How To Prepare For Your Engagement Session
Some of my wedding packages include a complimentary engagement session and it is the perfect way to introduce yourself as their wedding photographer and to get to know each other before the big day! I prefer not to rush these sessions and sometimes spend half a day just capturing these love birds. Over the past few years, engagement photos (also known as pre-wedding sessions, e-sessions, love stories sessions) have become quite common among couples about to get married. There are many benefits to having an engagement session in that short period before you get married.
My couples do all the negotiations and arrangements for their engagement session with the venues themselves. I do offer guidance and help with the arrangements, but it is important that you as a couple choose your venue to avoid any disappointments.
One of the most asked questions I get for is, “how do we prepare for our engagement photos?
I am sharing some tips and suggestions on how to make the most out of your photo shoot that will help reduce your stress and prepare you for practicing being in front of the camera before your wedding day.
Celebrating your Love Story – with Geraldine & Jesse Ackerman
We’ve been together for 12years, got married after 10years, married 1 year now. On my 30th birthday he told me he did not buy me a birthday present, BUT we are getting married in 10 days time! ALL planned by my him, friends and family, everything arranged behind my back, So yes i got a surprise wedding, all that I was aloud to know was that it will be in my sisters garden with just a hand full of family, and I got to pick my dress. In my head and what i was told is that my parents will not be able to make it they live in KZN at that time we lived in PTA.
So when i counted down my 10 days, to receive my birthday gift. HECTIC! The day came. Was at the salon getting dressed and ready, my sister’s husband picked me up and here we go on our way to my sisters house, but on our way we took a turn and stopped at a place, when we turned the corner inside a premises, I saw my dad waiting for me at the end of the garden path. WOW. so much for a small wedding.
Everything from food, Cake, decor, tables, DJ, Family, Friends and everything was perfect. BUT one of my friends know a friend of a friend that is a startup photographer. I did not get a lot of photos or good quality of my EXTRA special day.

Farmbarn Engagement Photoshoot with Bronwyn and Lourens
Sharing Bronwyn and Lourens’ engagement shoot on their Farm out on Lynnwood Road Pretoria East called Farm Barn.
I have known these two for the past 2 years, visiting them regularly on their farm and riding horses with them. Lourens is a champion polo player and owns quite a few horses. The two of them owns a wedding venue called Watercrest Wedding Venue where they will be getting married later this year. He finally popped the question and I cannot wait to capture this special day with special friends.
We spent an afternoon at Rand Airport with Theodore Jantjies and Tammy capturing some amazing images. Winter just brings a golden sunset scene like no other season.
Theo is a South African actor best known for his starring role as Xander Meintjies in the SABC2 soap opera 7de Laan. Looking forward to your wedding later this year!
